7th LA:
Monday - We will be starting our work with descriptive writing today. Students will view a sideshow and will create a 'word bank' of adjectives that will be used in a brief writing assignment next week.
Tuesday - Students will practice writing a short paragraph using descriptive words.
Wednesday - Students will take a short walk around the school and make notes of what they see, hear, smell, and feel. We will work on writing a descriptive paragraph with the information they recorded.
Thursday - We will begin our 'Things I'm Thankful For' writing assignment. Students will select a topic and write a descriptive paragraph that explains what they are thankful for and why. Today students will be selecting topics, brainstorming, and prewriting.
Friday - Students will edit their rough drafts and begin writing their final drafts in class today.
8th LA:
Monday - Friday - We will be reading the novel, The Outsiders, in class. Students will complete their reading at school and have a journal entry and a quiz every two chapters (every two days).
Tuff Collage - Students will be working on a 'Tuff' collage at home this week. In our novel, 'tuff' means 'cool'. Students will make a 12x18 collage of things that are 'tuff' or cool to them. These are due in class on Friday.
7th SS:
Monday - Today we will be taking a quiz over Section 2 and previewing Section 3. Students will have a vocab worksheet for homework.
Tuesday - We will be reading pages 67-71 in class and working on questions 1-3 (all parts).
Wednesday - We will be taking a quiz over Section 3 and previewing Section 4. Students will have a vocab worksheet for homework.
Thursday - We will be reading pages 74-79 in class and working on questions 1-3 (all parts).
Friday - We will be taking a quiz over Section 4. We will also be reading pages 72-73 and completing questions 1-2.
