Welcome back!! I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving break and got to spend time with family. We are diving back in and will be working hard for the next three weeks. December is a short month but we manage to fit A LOT in. Second semester starts today so all student have a clean slate with grades in all classes. Students also begin their new elective classes today.
7LA:
This week we will be working on understanding sequence and using sequence to aid in reading comprehension. Students will have a packet on Tuesday that was started in class; any remaining questions will be homework. Wednesday and Thursday we will be working on a more in depth packet as a class but some portions (vocab and the quiz at the end) will be assigned for homework on those nights.
On Friday students will take a unit assessment over the first three reading strategies - Finding Main Idea, Recalling Facts and Details, and Understanding Sequence.
8LA:

Thursday - We will start off with a vocab quiz from yesterdays reading. Then we will read pages 101-106 in class. Students will have questions 1-3 (all parts) and a vocab worksheet for homework.
Friday - We will start off with a vocab quiz from yesterdays reading. Then we will read pages 108-113 in class. Students will have questions 1-3 (all parts) and a vocab worksheet for homework over the weekend.
