Our last week in December, wahoo!! I'm sorry that I didn't an update last week - I was buried in grading and by the time I realized that I had forgotten it was half-way through the week! On weeks like that, please refer to your child's planner for assignments as they are supposed to fill them in each day at the start of class.
7LA:
Monday - Thursday - Students will be working on a Poetry Booklet this week. They will be responsible for selecting 15 poems and writing explanations about what the poem meant and why they selected it. We will be working in the computer lab on this for four days so students should have plenty of time to finish in class. The project will be due Friday at the start of class.
Friday - After turning in the Poetry Booklets, students will will take a test over the poetry vocabulary we covered last week. Each students will be allowed one half sheet of paper for notes if they choose to take advantage of it.
8LA:
Monday - Thursday - Students will be working on a Poetry Project this week. They will be responsible for selecting a poem and writing an analysis of their poem, showing examples of different poetic devices used in their poem, and displaying this information on a poster. Monday - Tuesday - Students will work on creating an Egyptian Cartouche' in class.
Wednesday - Thursday - We will be working with some websites discussing ancient Egypt and completing two online activites.
Friday - Students will have a continents and oceans test and an in-class worksheet.
